Sadly, I've lost the reference document for this page, and Pulsar appear deaf to requests for it, so its gone forever...
The circuits on this page have been taken more or less verbatim from a document produced by Pulsar of the UK, and have been submitted as circuits which if widely adopted would remove problems caused by not-truly-DMX512 compliant equipment bunging power into sensitive inputs of DMX512 inputs.
Although I've not personally verified this, these circuits should (according to Pulsar) protect DMX512 inputs and outputs against accidental connection of UK mains (240VAC) to DMX512 inputs or outputs.
